FEMA declared on May 24th, 2010 several counties in Oklahoma as disaster areas. The incident period for this declaration is May 10th through May 13th. You may be eligable for Individual Assistance. The Counties included in this are: Carter, Cleveland, McIntosh, Okfuskee, OKLAHOMA, Pottawatomie, and Seminole Counities. In addtion, any homes in the FEMA declared Oklahoma disaster area will require an additional inspection of the ther property to be completed by an appraiser. All lenders are requiring homes in these counties must have an additional inspection and given a disaster certification from the appraiser before the home can close.

Appraisers may charge an additional fee for this inspection. It is the duty of the originating lender or borrower to pay for this additional inspection.

Any appraisal dated on or before May 24, 2010 will not be required to the additional report subject to the appraiser's inclusion within the appraisal report that the property sustained no damage due to the recent storms in the area. **Appraisal requirement information obtained from American Southwest Mortgage Corp.
